I work at a beauty supply store. This is one of the top heat protectants we sell. It works wonders and helps dry hair and is affordable. Plus its a brand and product thats safe for and works well for people of colors hair types. This and the coconut one are the main heat protectants i reccomend in our store for people with more coarse dry hair. And its the one most of those people repurchase. Which tells me its working well for them.
Its too heavy on my hair, even with a coarser dry hair type. Its not meant for me. I love the treseme for an affordable product and the matrix mega sleek. Ive been using the natrix off and on since i was in middle school in the early 2000s. I keep going back to it. I have heard women of color love the matrix as well. It just doesnt have any added moisture or hydration benefits to it so they typically have to use more leave ins with it but the women ive spoken to about it says it protects their hair well and makes it soft and smooth when they use the heat protection spray with the mega sleek line.
As much as i love the matrix i still would reccomend the silk elements over it to people with a more coarse dry hair type.
