Why I DON'T Recommend Eye Cream

Do you really need a separate, expensive eye cream in your anti-aging routine? Top facial plastic surgeon Dr. Amir Karam explains why the answer is likely no. While the delicate eyelid skin needs powerful anti-aging ingredients, many facial products are too harsh, forcing you to buy a separate formula. Dr. Karam debunks this common industry practice, arguing that one well-formulated product should be gentle enough for the entire face, neck, and eyes, simplifying your routine and saving you money. 1. For some reason I’ve always found eyecreams to be superfluous, even nonsensical. Particularly bc many brands market them with the line “for dry undereyes”. Who has dry undereyes? It’s one of the most delicate and soft spots of skin that we have. I didn’t use anything before, but the last few months I’ve started to just softly pat a teeny tiny drop of my niacinamide and peptide serums on my undereyes all the way down to where my cheekbones start and the creases at the sides of my eyes with my finger tips. Then I top it with my peptide anti-aging facial cream with my finger tips. Hoping it will plump up those areas with time🙏🏻 and if not, it’s ok

  2. I disagree because I’ve tried using the same cream or moisturizer I use on my face and it always burns my eyes. I have to use eye creams because they are specially formulated for the eye area and I’ve noticed they don’t burn.
